Where to get SUP Lessons - StandUp Paddleboard Lessons in Toronto
Updated May 8, 2014
In June of 2012 Matt opened SUPsurf (for Stand Up Paddle surfing) and continues to offer Stand Up Paddle Board lessons and SUP rentals in the Toronto Beaches. You can now get much more information directly from his site, www.supsurf.ca
Right here in the Beaches! First of all, I should tell you that the fundamentals are pretty easy to learn. Usually a 60 minute lesson is enough for you to catch on, and the rest is just pure practice and enjoyment. My son Matt really took to Stand Up Paddleboarding and since we live so close to the lake, he started teaching lessons to beginners. You can reach him at: firstname.lastname@example.org
I suppose I should add that this is Matt's enterprise, not mine, and you'll have to contact him directly for information.

On May 2nd , 2014, I opened a retail and online store at Woodbine and Queen called Beach Toyz. While the focus is selling and renting Stand Up Paddleboards, we also rent bicycles and rent or sell Floater Mats for the cottage. You get the idea - "Beach Toyz". Pretty much whatever you need to enjoy the beach or the cottage. You'll find us here: www.beachtoyz.ca
Where to SUP in Toronto - StandUp Paddleboarding in Toronto
The Beaches of course! It's easy to drive to, and the 501 streetcar provides great TTC access to the Beaches. You can read the entire article about The Best Places to SUP in Toronto on the Beach Toyz website.
Woodbine Beach in Ashbridges Bay is somewhat sheltered and it has a shallow, swimable beach with extremely clean water. (Read my article about the free downloadable iphone app to check water quality on all of Toronto's Beaches.)
Cherry Beach is another somewhat sheltered area that has great car access, but it's harder to reach by transit.
See you on the water!
