If you love sophisticated home design, you will find something or someone at the 14th annual Interior Design Show at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre this weekend that will inspire or encourage you - perhaps even compel you - to spend your money.
Targeted to professionals in the design industry, the show is open to the public on January 29 and January 30. Many of the 300 exhibitors are the same people who design and produce the amazing and beautiful furniture and unique decorative accents on view, or who normally show to the design trade only. Innovative products are introduced to the public at this show and incredibly styled displays and installations are the order of the day. Price points are often scary but inspiration is free. You'll want to follow up with some of the exhibitors, so don't forget a pen, paper and a camera.
There will be stage presentations on both Saturday and Sunday, and speakers range from international designers like Paris-based Jean-Marie Massaud to Canadian design icons Sarah Richardson and Brian Gluckstein. Tickets are a steep $22 at the door but worth it if you are unmoved by the usual bland offerings at mall furniture and accessories stores.
